Les Lost in the Swell join Maewan onboard!
Patalluvia
The team of “Lost In The Swell” has been dreaming for years to explore Patagonia’s West Coast, known for its strong swell, its jagged virgin coasts, where any human presence is absent. There, thanks to the satellite image and meteorological data, the team is convinced to discover new waves. Their study of those maps convinces them that there are some spots for surfing, they just have to find the best way to get there. The coast offers little shelter and is exposed to storms.
During an adventure film festival that they cross paths with Erwan le Lann, capital of the sailboat of Maewan’s association (a 10-metre long aluminum monohull boat). Hearing about their projects, he proposes to join him on board in one of the expedition’s stages, which includes Patagonia. It is the team’s first adventure in such colds lands – definitively a change compared to the tropics!
They spent one month together onboard, in complete autarchy, accompanied by capital Erwan le Lann and Eric Péron, an expert in offshore sailing. They explored more than a thousand kilometres of coastlines to find the “perfect wave”. It was not a given that good waves would come to their direction, but once again their good luck helped them out.
