Where we at? Lockdown, Communication, and Commitment

1 July 2020

As we are entering summer and timidly coming out of the Covid-19 situation, we take a moment to share an update on our activities during the last months. We are back with thousands of new ideas to better share our adventure with you. This month, what matters to us is the theme of commitment.

The global Pandemic and ensuing lockdown coincided with the return of Maewan’s team to their alpine lands. These months have been important to organise the next phase of our expedition in September, but also to reinforce the partnerships with our sponsors and expand our team. From our land base, we created Maewan’s website and blew new life into our social media channels, notably Twitter and LinkedIn. We hope to see you there, so to remain up-to-date with all the news that will be continuously released in the upcoming weeks.

As mentioned, in July we’ll speak about commitment to give sense to our actions. Each month, we’ll explore different topics related to our values, with the desire to further explore the issues and causes that inspire and motivate Maewan throughout the expedition.

For our President Marion Courtois, commitment means first and foremost to have the courage to be close to our hearts. For Maewan, commitment has meant to have dreams, adventures, be committed to the youths encountered, be a source of inspiration, of propositions, and solutions for the environmental issues we face. Commitment means « facing adversities and utilise them as trampoline », ask for help, accept it, and finally, being proud of having achieved the objectives.

During our educational and environmental projects, as we meet the youths of the local communities, we seek to transmit the value of commitment as a means to go beyond individual effort and change destines through collective actions.

We propose to you to watch the TedX presentation of our President Marion Courtois on commitment and Maewan :
